WVC 学生s and members of 学生 government expressed a need for an expanded area where they could freely participate in recreational activities, create a space to support 学生 events and provide a gathering space for clubs and organizations.

The main floor is home to a double court gymnasium, a multi-use studio for Yoga, dance and other group activities, information desk, restrooms and day use lockers. 第二个 floor mezzanine contains state of the art cardiovascular equipment, free weights, selectorized weight machines, TRX and other free movement training. 娱乐中心 is equipped for a variety of activities including basketball, volleyball, pickleball, dodge ball, indoor walking, intramural activities, and space for 学生-sanctioned dances, and other special events. The fee for WVC 皇冠8868会员登录 学生s is $5 per credit up to a maximum of $75 per quarter/per 学生. All WVC 皇冠8868会员登录 学生s taking credit earning classes* will pay the fee. 

*Transitional studies 学生s may choose to pay a $5 service fee for REC center access beginning Winter quarter 2018. 学生 in non-credit classes (continuing education) are not eligible to use the facility at this time.

The State of Washington does not pay for non-classroom 空间 on campus. 不管 of the need and desire of 学生s, taxpayer dollars cannot be used to fund recreational 空间. Therefore, a 学生-initiated and 学生-funded project is the only way a recreation center could be built.

A WVC 学生 can bring up to two guests per day. Guests must be with their WVC sponsor 在任何时候.

Only WVC 学生s, faculty, staff and recent alumni have access to the 学生 recreation center. Recent alumni who paid the REC center fee between 2015-17 may access the building 最多两年. Please see REC center staff for details.
